The future of work requires redesigning leadership and utilising the competencies within the organisation.

One naturally occurring form of leadership has remained invisible or taken for granted in organisations: informal leadership. Informal leadership is gained influence over other people and the collective work without a formal leadership position. In today's professional work, informal leadership creates action in a variety of ways – it is strategic and interactive work generating change and developing work. Informal leaders voluntarily take responsibility for collective work and coordinate it.

One of the fundamental themes is the willingness and ability to act for the common good. However, this type of leadership can be enabled and supported by the organisation. Therefore, it is important to understand, how informal leadership manifests in your organisation and how it can support to achieve organisational goals.
